Hello, I’m a writer, a bartender, a mom, a filmmaker, a producer, and — when I can afford it — I’m also a patron of the arts.
My core understanding of writing, acting and directing developed at the infamous, unknown Ilkhom Theater of Mark Weil in Tashkent, Uzbekistan. There I learned that it is important to live onstage — not just act.
I have an MA in Journalism from the University of Missouri, and I love research. Even when writing fiction, I like to go back to original sources. What stories did my characters read? What plants did they grow in their gardens? What laws did they break?
My motivation is to see beauty and justice increase in our world. My life-partner, Nathaniel, and I co-founded Moriah Pictures, a filmmaking company that currently produces horror shorts, and we regularly host Sketch and Chill, a gathering place for artists.
For 13 years now, this Gothic princess saga has haunted my imagination, and it’s growing in there still. The first book, Tower of Sand, was finished in 2020 with the help of a team. Thank you, guys.
